Wunderbar.

Bar review of Wunderbar a now closed down bar in Shanghai.
First it is a wonder if you can find it, nestled in an entertainment complex. It is easiest to find from Liaoyuan xilu. Despite the name it is actually a sports bar, although it does carry some excellent German beers (try the Weihenstephan Y45 500ml). The space is dominated by 6 pool tables imported from America, so no need to compete for a table. There is a foosball table and maybe in the future a basketball game. A mock running track is a nice touch but there is a bit of confusion with the rap, disco ball and numerous TV screens competing for attention. Staff are friendly, efficient and part time pool hustlers. Close to the universities it attracts a young mixed crowd. About the only bar in the area it may well be worth a special trip.
